LODBOD — Transportation Management System

Digitizing manual logistics coordination into a real-time, transparent platform connecting shippers, vehicle owners, and drivers.

Logistics Web + Mobile Enterprise UX

Overview

LODBOD is a comprehensive transportation management system (TMS) designed to bridge the gap between shippers, vehicle owners, and drivers. The primary objective was to replace inefficient, manual coordination methods—such as phone calls, paper records, and spreadsheets—with a unified digital platform that offers real-time data and transparency.

My Role

As the Lead UX/UI Designer, I managed the end-to-end design process: discovery, requirements gathering, information architecture, wireframing, high-fidelity design, creating the design system, usability validation, and developer handoff.

Project Goals & Problems

Key Goals

  • Centralize operations for all user roles onto a single platform.
  • Provide real-time visibility into vehicle locations and trip statuses.
  • Accelerate the order placement and bidding processes.
  • Deliver clear, consistent reporting and status tracking.

Problems to Solve

User research highlighted several critical pain points:

  • Frequent miscommunication between parties due to a lack of a single source of truth.
  • No unified system for tracking vehicles or delivery progress.
  • High friction and delays in user onboarding.
  • Scattered and inconsistent reporting methods.

Information Architecture

The platform was structured into distinct modules tailored to the needs of its target users: Vehicle Owners, Shippers, Drivers (mobile), and Platform Admins.

  • Vehicle Owner (Web/Mobile): Self-registration, vehicle/driver management, trip creation, status updates, bidding on orders.
  • Shipper (Web): Self-registration, dashboard, order placement, bid selection/confirmation, cancellation, and reporting.
  • Driver (Mobile): Registration, trip notifications, delivery status updates (Park, In-Journey, Delivered), and reports.
  • Platform Admin (Web): User management, shift request handling, and platform-wide analytics.

Design System

A minimal and functional design system was created to support data-heavy interfaces. It prioritized clarity and ease of use, with components like sidebar navigation, filterable tables, status badges, and data charts.
